U.S. offshore rig count picks up the pace

After climbing back to 12 units, the number of offshore rigs in the U.S. upped the ante last week and increased to 14, according to Baker Hughes’ weekly rig count report from last Friday.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: U.S. +7 to 670 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 7 from last week to 670 with oil rigs up 7 to 531, gas rigs unchanged at 137, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 2.

U.S. Rig Count is up 253 rigs from last year’s count of 417 with oil rigs up 207, gas rigs up 45 and miscellaneous up 1.

The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is up 2 to 14, up 2 year-over-year.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: Canada -36 to 140 rigs

Canada Rig Count is down 36 from last week to 140, with oil rigs down 27 to 76, gas rigs down 9 to 64.

Canada Rig Count is up 59 rigs from last year’s count of 81, with oil rigs up 45, gas rigs up 14.
