Triton Knoll Seeks O&M Crew

Innogy has kicked off a recruitment drive for up to 22 roles at its new Triton Knoll operations & maintenance (O&M) base in Grimsby, UK.

Adverts for the new roles go live from Wednesday, 31 July, as the developer seeks to identify local talent for a range of jobs.

The open positions being advertised are for 15 wind turbine generator technicians, five senior authorised person (SAP) technicians, a site administrator, and a production manager.

Once appointed, the O&M team at Triton Knoll’s four-acre base at ABP’s Grimsby port, will operate the 857MW offshore wind farm, and be responsible for ensuring the delivery of electricity from the infrastructure project to UK homes and businesses.

The WTG technicians will work offshore on the 90 turbines due to be installed over 20 miles off the coast of Lincolnshire, from 2021. There will be extensive training for the successful candidates both from innogy, which has secured the long term O&M contract for the wind farm, and Triton Knoll’s turbine contractor  – MHI Vestas Offshore Wind.

While skills and experience are important they’re not exclusive, innogy said, as the project seeks to also attract new talent and career switchers to the offshore sector, providing full training for the right candidates.

Kerry Monument, a former Grimsby apprentice and now Operations & Maintenance Manager for Triton Knoll and innogy, is building the team.

Triton Knoll is jointly owned by innogy (59%), J-power (24%), and Kansai Electric Power (16%), with innogy managing the construction of the wind farm on behalf of the way partnership. Innogy will also be responsible for the operations and maintenance of Triton Knoll long-term.
