Havila said on Thursday that the new contract for the Havila Commander is for a firm period of 18 months. The contract is scheduled to start in mid-April 2020 in direct continuation of the existing contract.

The Havila Commander has worked for Total E&P UK since April 2012 when the first contract, for a period of five years, was awarded.

In 2017, Total exercised two one-year options for the vessel, which kept it under a firm contract until April 2019. Once this deal expired, Total in April 2019 awarded another one-year contract which has expired in April 2020.

The Havila Commander was delivered in June 2010 from Hellesøy Yard Løfallstrand, Norway. It is 85 meters long and 20 meters wide with 5,486 tonnes of deadweight.
