The 58,731 dwt Supramax, previously named MV Maritime Unity, was acquired in early March from Japan’s Okouchi Kaiun, data provided by VesselsValue shows.

The 2008-built ship was purchased at a price of USD 14 million.

With the latest acquisition, the Thoresen-owned fleet comprises a total of 22 vessels with an average size of 54,706 dwt.

In late March 2018, the company added another second-hand dry bulk vessel to its fleet, the 58,700 dwt MV Thor Caliber.

The Supramax, formerly named MV Albion, was purchased for USD 14 million from UK’s Union Maritime, according to VesselsValue data.

The acquisitions were made on the back of the company’s sale of two older ships.

In February 2018, TTA disposed of the 1995-built MV Thor Endeavour for USD 4.2 million. In late 2017, the company sold its 2002-built MV Thor Horizon for USD 5.4 million.
