TGS said it had secured a significant 3D streamer contract for India’s government-owned energy company Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in the Mahanadi basin on the East Coast of India, for which seismic acquisition vessel Ramform Sovereign will mobilize in January 2025.

The contract has a duration of approximately six months.

“We are very pleased to secure this contract with ONGC, which provides visibility for the Ramform Sovereign for the first half 2025. We look forward to supporting them with high-quality seismic data using our Ramform acquisition platform and GeoStreamer technology,” said Kristian Johansen, CEO of TGS.

Furthermore, TGS won an OBN contract in Europe with a repeat customer, under which its node-on-a-rope crew is scheduled to commence acquisition in early April 2025. The contract has a duration of circa 35 days.

Johansen said that TGS was experiencing higher bidding activity in Northwest Europe compared to recent years, following the recent award of the company’s first 3D streamer contract for the 2025 summer season.
