Ørsted Wind Power plans to issue the tender for four to five substation topsides and the MSFs for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm, and three to four topsides and MSFs for the Baltica 3 project.

Ørsted will use the Achilles Utilities Nordics and Central Europe (UNCE) qualification system for the procurement and expects to launch the tender via said qualification system on 2 September using product code 4.5.14 – Substation Turnkey – Transmission.

Ørsted is representing the contracting entities in the entire tender procedure.

The Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 wind farms are located in the Polish Baltic Sea. The two projects have a combined capacity of 2.5 GW and are owned and jointly developed by Ørsted and Poland’s energy company PGE.

The projects have already received environmental permits and signed grid connection agreements, and have been awarded Contracts for Difference by the Polish Energy Regulatory Office.

Subject to Ørsted’s and PGE’s final investment decisions, the 1 GW Baltica 3 could become operational in 2026, while the 1.5 GW Baltica 2 could become operational before 2030.
