Technical University Hamburg-Harburg Hosts Travelling Offshore Wind Exhibition (Germany)

The traveling exhibition “Offshore Fascination – Wind and Sea for New Energy in Urban and Rural Areas” will be available to visitors for four weeks, starting April 29, in the foyer of the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg.

The goal of the exhibition, which is initiated by the Offshore Wind Energy Foundation (Stiftung OFFSHORE-WINDENERGIE) and funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, is to provide continuous information workshops on offshore wind energy.

“Offshore wind power is essential for the implementation of the energy transition,” explains Jörg Kuhbier, Chairman of the Offshore Wind Energy Foundation.

He continued: “With our exhibition, we want to promote the acceptance of this clean energy and bring the new technology with its fascinating aspects, as well as the supply chain that extends from the coastal countries to the south of the republic, a little closer to the interested population.”

Those who are curious and interested in the various aspects of wind energy in the North and Baltic Seas can inform themselves by using a total of 13 information panels. In addition, a short film gives further insight into the structure and operation of offshore wind farms.

The exhibition in Hamburg-Harburg can be visited until May 31, and will be displayed in various cities in Germany until the autumn of 2014.
