Tanker Ocean Mare Arrested in Singapore

The 2006-built crude oil tanker Ocean Mare has been arrested in Singapore, most likely due to unresolved payments, according to Supreme Court of Singapore’s records.

Owned by India-based Varun Shipping, the 106,004 dwt vessel was arrested in the afternoon hours of June 22, following instructions from a local law firm Haridass Ho & Partners.

Focal Investigation & Security Agency has been appointed for security and investigation purposes related to the arrest of the Panama-flagged tanker.

According to AIS data by MarineTraffic, the ship arrived in Singapore in mid-April 2016, where it was arrested on April 23 at the request of V Ships in relation to outstanding management expenses. VesselsValue data shows that the ship was released on October 7, 2016.

The vessel’s current status is listed as laid up.
