Business & Finance

The 2009-built chemical tanker Chemroad Journey was refloated after being stranded off the coast of Vietnam for over three weeks.

The owner of the vessel, Japan-based shipping company Iino Kaiun Kaisha, confirmed that there were no injuries or pollution reported following the grounding incident, which occurred on June 10.

Featuring 20,108 gross ton, Chemroad Journey ran aground some 28 miles south of Phu Quy island in the Binh Thuan Province.

In late June relevant authorities established a refloating plan and the appointed salvage company arranged the required assistance and took the necessary risk mitigation measures to refloat the vessel.
