Telecommunications provider Swift Networks has been awarded a contract by Pacific Offshore to provide content for the Arcadia vessel, supporting the commissioning of Shell’s Prelude FLNG facility.

Under the five to twelve-month contract, Swift Networks will provide content to the 750 crew members on the Arcadia supporting the final stages of commissioning of Prelude FLNG.

The duration of the contract depends on the duration of the commissioning process.

Swift CEO, Xavier Kris said that the deal with Pacific Offshore adds to the company’s existing agreement for the Prelude FLNG signed in March with Shell and Nokia.

Shell’s chief financial officer Jessica Uhl earlier this month said the 3.6 mtpa Prelude FLNG facility will come on stream offshore Western Australia next year and is expected to stay moored at the Prelude gas field for 25 years.
