Project & Tenders

Survitec has secured an order for its Gen 2 Wind Tri Approved Suit, which Ørsted will use for all helicopter transfers during the construction of the Hornsea Project One offshore wind farm.

The Gen 2 Tri Approved Suit is specifically made for the renewable energy market and is capable of supporting aviation transit, marine transit and constant wear work, the UK-based company said.

“In addition to a long and proud history in the oil and gas industry, Survitec has recently developed an array of products that have been specifically designed for the renewable energy sector. It is an honour, and ringing endorsement, to have been selected by the world’s largest offshore wind farm developer, Ørsted, to support the significant Hornsea Project One,” Ross Johnston, Global Key Account Manager at Survitec, said.

According to Survitec, the suit is fully waterproof, breathable, flame retardant and provides maximum functionality to the wearer.

Owned and developed by Ørsted, the 1.2GW Hornsea Project One will comprise 174 7MW turbines located 120km off the Yorkshire Coast in the UK.

It will become the largest offshore wind farm in the world once fully operational in 2020.
