Business & Finance

Industry experts are being urged by Subsea UK to showcase the most advanced technologies and lead discussions on the current and future subsea challenges at next year’s flagship event, Subsea Expo.

The 14th annual conference, which takes place at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre from 5-7th February 2019, will examine and debate key industry topics including autonomous subsea systems, smart innovation, clean energy, and transformational technology.

With the theme ‘Innovating the Future’, the event aims to stimulate high-level discussions on subsea technology and the rise of digitalisation. Looking at how they are accelerating the ability to deliver sustainable energy and achieve operational efficiency.

Industry body, Subsea UK is calling for speakers to step up to the plate and discuss how embracing disruptive and enabling technologies can generate greater levels of transparency, efficiency, and performance.

With 75% of exhibition stands now sold, Subsea Expo 2019 is expected to attract more than 5,000 visitors and over 150 exhibitors. The event is an opportunity for those in the industry to showcase new products, introduce different approaches and make their voice heard.

Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK, said: “The subsea industry has always been at the forefront of new technology; developing safe and efficient ways of working in even the most hostile environments across the globe.

“If the past few years have taught us anything, it’s that we must continue to adapt and embrace change in order to grow. New applications and advanced technologies have the potential to disrupt long-standing industry models and further enhance how we operate. It’s about exploring, embracing and adopting the latest innovations to ensure we stay ahead of the game.

“If we combine 40 years of subsea experience and knowledge with digitalisation and new technology, we could truly transform the way we design, deliver and run subsea projects. This could yield many advantages and efficiency improvements, whilst build on the cost reduction efforts that the industry has made in recent years.”

The deadline for speaker submissions is 5th October 2018.
