The ceremony took place at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Marghera, Venice, and was attended, among others, by Harry Sommer, President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Andrea DeMarco, President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager of Fincantieri’s Merchant Ships Division, and Marco Lunardi, Director of the Marghera yard.

With a gross tonnage of 77,000 tons and a length of 257 meters, Seven Seas Prestige will accommodate approximately 850 passengers in 434 suites.

According to Fincantieri, the vessel will integrate the “most advanced” environmental technologies and introduce new accommodation categories and experiences for luxury travelers.

Scheduled for delivery in 2026, this will be the first vessel in the new Prestige class, a generation of ships following the Explorer series, also built by Fincantieri. It will be followed by a sister ship in 2029.

To remind, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings revealed a major fleet expansion program with the order for up to eight next-generation cruise ships to be built by Fincantieri at the beginning of 2024.

Specifically, the company placed an order for four new next-generation cruise ships, two for the Regent Seven Seas Cruises and two for the Oceania Cruises brands respectively. Moreover, NCLH signed a letter of intent (LoI) to explore the construction of four additional units.
