SR’s Marine Conference set for September

Scottish Renewables, an organisation dedicated to strengthening business relationships and committed to securing the best possible environment for renewables in Scotland, will hold a conference on marine renewables in September.

The two-day conference will feature some of the leading names from the marine renewables industry, and offer discussions on tidal and wave energy sector.

For the first day, several sessions are planned, including Financing the Future session, where the financing models for tidal and wave energy projects will be discussed by the leading industry experts including Michael Ottaviano, CEO and Managing Director at Carnegie Wave Energy, John Robertson, Senior Development Manager at The Crown Estate, and Angus McCrone, Chief Editor at Bloomberg New Energy Finance, amongst others.

The first day will also offer updates on the cutting-edge projects and technologies being developed in Scotland.

The second day of the conference will comprise the session called Charting the Course to Commercialization that will try to explore the clear and consistent 2030 vision for the sector, and will feature Dan Pearson, Chief Executive Officer at MeyGen, Neil Kermone, Managing Director at EMEC,and Janine Kellett, Head of Offshore Renewables Policy Team at Scottish Government as speakers.

During the second day, two other sessions focusing on tidal and wave industry individually will be held, with Paddy O’Kane, Chief Executive Officer at Aquamarine Power, Tim Hurst, Managing Director at Wave Energy Scotland, and Christoph Hardwood, Commercial Director at Sustainable Marine Energy as speakers, amongst others.

Scottish Renewables Marine Conference 2015 will be held on September 15-16, 2015, at Eden Court Theatre in Inverness.
