Speakers line-up forming for Marine Energy Wales conference

The organizers of the Marine Energy Wales conference have announced keynote speakers which include officials from the Welsh government and the European Union.

The conference, to be held in Cardiff on April 19, 2018, will feature Felix Leinemann, Head of the European Commissions’ Unit on Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, who will deliver a keynote address, the Welsh marine body in charge of conference organization – Marine Energy Wales – informed.

The organization has previously announced Mark Drakeford, Welsh Cabinet Secretary for Finance, as one of its keynote speakers.

Also, the conference will see Anna McMorrin, Shadow Parliamentary Private Secretary for International Trade and Climate Change, deliver the opening address of the day.

Aside from government officials, the conference will see speeches delivered by industry experts, including that of Martin Edlund, CEO of the Swedish tidal energy developer Minesto which has ongoing and planned tidal energy operations in Wales.

Marine Energy Wales conference aims to showcase the progress being made in Wales as well as outline future plans and opportunities in the marine energy sector.

The event provides a platform to learn about marine renewable energy projects in Wales, alongside sector developments and opportunities. It also provides a forum to discuss key challenges and opportunities and to encourage collaboration and business networking.
