The 2015-built Normand Navigator arrived at Husøy, Karmøy in Norway, this week for the mobilization of ROVs from Omega Subsea Robotics, a joint venture between Solstad and Omega Subsea.

Kystdesign completed the factory acceptance test (FAT) on May 23. The mobilization onboard has already started and is expected to be complete by the end of June.

The vessel is set to commence its new project shortly after the mobilization is finalized and will see the provision of survey services in addition to ROVs.

Omega Subsea Robotics currently has eight ROVs in Solstad’s fleet, which are onboard Normand Frontier, Normand Sentinel, Normand Maximus, and Normand Navigator.

To remind, it was reported in August 2023 that Ocean Installer had handed out a seasonal contract for 2024 for Normand Navigator for work mainly on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS), also including additional services such as ROVs, project support, and a survey.

The 142,6-meter-long vessel is of Vard 3 07 design and can accommodate 130 persons.
