SINN Power seeks wave engineers

Business & Finance

German wave energy developer SINN Power is looking to expand its team to accelerate the development of its wave energy technology.

SINN Power is specifically looking to expand its electrical engineering team to cover the increased demand for customized wave energy and generator technology solutions, the company said.

The available positions cover power electronics developer, and generator unit programmer, with other internship and marketing opportunities available.

As reported earlier, SINN Power has recently retrieved its wave energy device after it was deployed at the Port of Heraklion in Crete, Greece, for one year.

After the completion of the upgrades on the device, which include installing new generators with increased power output, more efficient power electronics, and improved end-stop buffering to absorb the impact of high waves, the device will be redeployed on the same location later this year.

SINN Power’s wave energy device produces electricity as the motion of the waves lifts the floating bodies of the individual modules, which in turn lift a rod that runs through a generator unit, which in turn produces power.
