Siemens Gamesa Hands Over Teesside O&M to EDF ENS

Operations & Maintenance

EDF EN Services, part of EDF Energies Nouvelles, took over the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of the 62.1MW Teesside wind farm located off the coast of North East England on 30 July.

Located some 1.5 kilometres offshore, the Teesside offshore wind farm comprises 27 Siemens SWT2.3 wind turbines which were fully commissioned in August 2013.

EDF EN Services took over the site for O&M following five years of service by the turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.

The wind farm is maintained from a base in the Port of Hartlepool.

Teesside is the first offshore wind farm where the development, engineering and construction were entirely led by EDF Group companies, EDF EN Services said.

It is the second offshore wind farm serviced and maintained by EDF EN Services after the 400MW BARD wind farm in Germany.
