The 93.6-meter-long MPSV Siem Dorado has been awarded a contract extension from marine geophysical service provider PXGeo for utilization for two years and four-month firm period in direct continuation.

This extension ensures that the Siem Dorado vessel, a research vessel for subsea use, will remain under contract until April 2027, said the company.

The MPSV Siem Dorado is a diesel electric-driven vessel with low fuel consumption for reduced emissions to the environment.

Siem Dorado is designed to meet the general offshore supply market with its 100-ton heave compensated offshore crane, specially designed for remotely operated vehicles (ROV) and light construction duties.

The 2009-built MPSV is of an MT 6017 MK II design and can accommodate 68 people.

In January 2023, the vessel arrived in Brazil in preparation for a term campaign for PXGEO, which was scheduled to begin in February of the same year.
