The companies signed this agreement on a ten-year term. Under the deal, Seros will be the logistics partner to Shell Energy India for doorstep delivery of LNG across the country.

Above all, this partnership wants to develop a larger market for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in India. Its broader goal is to lead the country into a more environment-friendly future.

Ashish Agarwal, CEO of Seros, spoke to APN News. “India is rapidly shifting towards being a gas-based economy and the need of the hour is to opt for a fuel that is not only safe and reliable but also eco-friendly.”

“We focus on substantially boosting the use of greener fuels in the country and leading India’s transition to cleaner fuels. With this partnership, customers will receive LNG delivered with the gold standard in safety following processes and systems mandated by Shell’s HSSE requirements,” he also added.

To remind, Shell Energy India is a Shell venture that operates through a fully-owned and integrated value chain. It, therefore, includes competitive supply from global LNG portfolio, regasification at the Hazira facility, and downstream customer sales.

With India’s net-zero emissions by 2050 in mind, Shell has also created a scenario sketch. The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Shell created this to explore the ongoing energy transition. It illustrates the pathway towards this decarbonisation goal.
