The rig owner said in a statement on Monday that the contract was in direct continuation of its current contract for drilling operations offshore Nigeria.

According to information on Bassoe Offshore, the rig has been under contract with Chevron off Nigeria since March 2018.

The rig’s previous contract extension – which is set to expire in October 2019 – was announced last February.

Bassoe’s dayrate estimate for the rig’s previous and latest extension is $75,000.

The 350 foot jack-up drilling unit is of a LeTourneau Super 116-C design. It was built by Keppel in 2008.
