Shearwater will perform two consecutive towed streamer survey projects in the Asia Pacific Region with a combined duration of three months.

The company’s multi-sensor vessel Geo Coral will be used for the work, with the projects commencing in early Q4 2024.

Shearwater recently secured a contract extension for a “major” deepwater ocean bottom node (OBN) survey off the coast of India, after having revealed its intention to upgrade the main engines on one of its seismographic research ships to achieve more sustainable and efficient operations.

In terms of work scheduled for next year, the Norwegian firm is set to begin a two-month 4D seismic monitoring project in Ghana at the beginning of 2025, at the Jubilee field, operated by Tullow Ghana Ltd. This will be the first contract conducted by Shearwater Ghana, in conjunction with local partner Destra Energy, and will include considerable local content participation.

Also scheduled for the beginning of 2025, Shearwater will deliver an OBN survey in Angola for French energy giant TotalEnergies, in Block 32 over the Louro and Mostarda fields.
