Technology

Offshore Wind Innovators, a community for companies active in the Dutch offshore wind industry, has opened the new edition of Offshore Wind Innovation Challenge for applications.

In the first challenge of the competition, Deutsche Windtechnik is seeking a device or method to measure the present stress within the elongated bolt, without knowing the initial length of the bolt.

The second challenge concerns protecting bolts and nuts against corrosion, with Deutsche Windtechnik looking for a tool or equipment to clean up bolted connection for further application of any corrosion protection.

The Offshore Wind Innovation Challenge is developed for Dutch SMEs, start-ups and students solving problems of Dutch corporates.

It aims to connect business partners looking for out-of-the-box solutions with entrepreneurs presenting the solution the industry is looking for.

The deadline for submitting applications is 10 June and the applicants are asked to come up with solutions ready to use within six months.
