Seismic services provider SeaBird Exploration has signed a letter of award for a 2D seismic survey offshore West Africa.

According to Seabird’s statement on Tuesday, the project is due to begin in the second quarter of 2017 and will last for approximately one month.

The company added that it would be using the 1985-built Osprey Explorer for the project.

The Osprey Explorer joined SeaBird’s fleet in August 2006 after being converted to a 2D long offset/source vessel in Poland.

The company did not provide any details regarding the value of the agreement, nor its client.

To remind, the company signed a letter of intent earlier this month for a survey in the Asia Pacific region. The company will use the Voyager Explorer seismic vessel for the project which is due to start in the second half of June.
