According to a statement sent to Offshore Energy Today by Sea Mar, Neptune has hired the vessel on a three-year contract, with two one-year options to extend the charter further. The financial details have not been disclosed.

Neptune Energy Netherlands will use the Sea Mar Splendid vessel for Inspection, Repair and Maintenance operations on the Dutch Continental Shelf starting in March 2019.

More specifically, the 59-meter long Sea Mar Splendid will be utilized for air diving support duties.

Sea Mar said the contract represented a continuation of the long-standing relationship between the two companies which have worked together for the last ten years.

“Such long term agreements are not that common anymore in the oil and gas industry, so we are proud to have been awarded this new contract with Neptune Energy,” said Leo Balkema, Managing director and owner of Sea Mar shipping.
