Schlumberger signs marketing and distribution agreement with MyCelx

Business & Finance

World’s largest oilfield services provider Schlumberger has, through its subsidiary Cameron, signed an exclusive marketing and distribution agreement with a water technology company, MyCelx, for its products used in the upstream oil and gas market.

MyCelx said on Friday that the deal relates to expediting the new RE-GEN product line as the go-to water treatment method in the upstream oil and gas market.

According to the company, MyCelx will retain all its business in the downstream market including all its products and services.

MyCelx’s Chief Executive Officer, Connie Mixon, said: “We are extremely pleased to be working with Schlumberger to bring our products to their global upstream customer base. This agreement is in line with our focus on establishing strategic alliances to leverage sales and marketing channels globally. We believe the RE-GEN product is a paradigm shift for upstream producers in that it allows them to meet their produced water treatment needs and provides meaningful cost savings.”

Cameron, which penned the MyCelx deal, was only recently acquired by Schlumberger after the final obstacle for the merger was passed in March this year.
