GTT said that with a total storage capacity of 200,000 m3, the FLNG will be the first fitted with the membrane containment system Mark III Flex developed by GTT.

The unit’s delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT, said: “We are proud to be involved in the construction of this FLNG. Thanks to our Mark III Flex technology, this FLNG will benefit from the best thermal performance available today. This new order brings to five the number of FLNGs fitted with GTT technologies.”

SHI has secured several orders for the construction of LNG carriers this year, increasing its earnings in orders to $2 billion in the first month of 2023. The floating LNG facility order alone is worth $1.5 billion.

To remind, SHI secured an engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) contract with Petronas for the FLNG project at the beginning of 2023.

Under the contract, SHI will be responsible for the FLNG hull EPC work and the modular fabrication of the topside.
