On its social media, the company informed that the signing ceremony has been held on the occasion of the “Italy Uzbekistan Business Forum,” which foresees the visit in Italy of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Saipem said: “As Saipem, we are proud to have the opportunity to support Uzbekistan’s energy sector growth and we are grateful and honored for this visit which marks Saipem’s presence in the region.”

This year, Uzbekistan has seen the start of another energy collaboration which is expected to serve the energy vision of the country.

Saudi’s ACWA Power, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy and Uzkimyosanoat, an Uzbekistan-owned chemical company, signed extensive heads of terms agreements to develop a green hydrogen facility and a green ammonia pilot project.

Jurabek Mirzamahmudov, Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan, said at the time: “We aim to ensure our readiness and establish the right framework and policies that will serve as the foundation for accelerating the development of green hydrogen projects in the future.”
