Saga Subsea to Manage North Sea Link Suldal Work for Nexans

Saga Subsea has been awarded the Suldal area site manager role by Nexans Norway for the North Sea Link (NSL) project.

North Sea Link project is a new HVDC cable, with a total 1 400MW transmission capacity, between Kvilldal in Rogaland, Norway and Blyth, north of Newcastle, England.

The cable, spanning 720 km, is expected to become operational in 2021. It is a collaboration project between National Grid (UK) and Statnett (Norway).

Nexans will undertake the work in Suldal area in Q1-Q3 2020, while some planning and preparations begin in Q4 2019.

Saga Subsea with the site manager role have been given the responsibility to lead and coordinate all the local work to be conducted in the Suldal area, on behalf of Nexans Norway.

The work will consist of leading the overall work, follow up on local suppliers and see to that planning and start is according to applicable laws and regulations and according to QHSE requirements for the project, the company explained.
