The two-year contract includes the provision of emergency medical care with a rescue helicopter and the offshore emergency control center.

With this new contract, RWE bundles offshore air rescue for both of its wind farms off Helgoland with one service provider as NHC Northern Helicopter has been providing HEMS and emergency control center for the Nordsee Ost project since November 2018.

“As the second largest operator of offshore wind farms worldwide, the safety of our employees is always our top priority,” said Marc Vahjen, who is responsible for the operation of Amrumbank West.

“With Northern Helicopter, we have a competent partner at our side who shares our high quality standards for medical care and, together with us, guarantees a fast and reliable rescue chain – now for both wind farms that we operate off the island of Helgoland.”

Amrumbank West consists of 80 Siemens SWT-3.6-120 turbines located around 35km north of the island of Heligoland. The 302 MW offshore wind farm was commissioned in October 2015.
