RVO.nl Seeks Hollandse Kust West Geophysical Surveyor

Authorities & Government

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) has opened a tender for geophysical soil investigations at the Hollandse Kust (west) offshore wind farm zone.

RVO.nl is seeking a contractor to carry out the geophysical investigations required for obtaining the soil information at the zone, which will be made available to all potential bidders for offshore wind farms in the Netherlands.

According to the Dutch agency, the objective of the study is to improve the bathymetrical, morphological and geological understanding of Hollandse Kust (west) and to identify objects in the designated wind farm sites.

The investigation aims to provide geophysical information on the locations, which is suitable for the preparation of geotechnical investigations and the design and installation requirements for offshore wind farms, including, but not limited to foundations and infield cables.

The works are scheduled to start in September this year and are expected to be finished by July 2019.

The deadline for submitting applications is 28 July.

In May, RVO.nl awarded BLIX, and its partners Reynolds International, Wind Support, RPS, Periplus and Marine Geological Advice, with a contract for expert support for soil investigations at Hollandse Kust (west).

The tender for the development of the 1.4GW zone is expected in 2021.
