RPS Energy, Carnegie Wave complete CETO 6 geophysical survey

Environment

RPS Energy has completed the offshore geophysical survey with Carnegie Wave Energy for its CETO 6 project.

Marine GeoSolutions managed by RPS Energy, together with Carnegie Wave, have undertaken the survey capturing vital information about the geological characteristics at the site.

The findings of the offshore geophysical survey activities will influence elements of the CETO 6 project, such as foundation selection, cable route and overall installation methodology, RPS Energy’s press release reads.

According to the Carnegie Wave’s update, the geophysical survey is a critical step in the environmental approvals process for the CETO 6 project and the results of the survey will allow Carnegie’s project team to enter the next phase of the design process.

The project comprises the design, construction, deployment and demonstration of three 1 MW CETO 6 units in a grid-connected wave energy project off Garden Island, Western Australia.

Carnegie Wave Energy is an Australian wave energy developer of CETO technology that has successfully connected an array of three CETO 5 wave energy devices to the Australian grid in February this year.
