Roc Oil employs Dayang on Sarawak drilling campaign

Malaysia’s services provider to oil and gas industry Dayang Enterprise has been awarded a four-year contract by Australia’s Roc Oil for the provision of services on the company’s Sarawak drilling campaign.

Dayang said in a Bursa Malaysia filing on Friday that the contract is for the provision of procurement, construction, installation, hook-up and commissioning services for Roc Oil Siprod/infill drilling campaign from 2019 until 2023.

Dayang said that the value of the contract is based on work orders issued by Roc Oil throughout the contract duration and will include any or all other work and services which is generally related to the scope of works in this contract at a fixed schedule of rates.

The duration of the contract is for a primary period of four years effective from May 13, 2019, and  it will expire on July 16, 2023, with an option to extend for a period of one year.

In Malaysia, Roc Oil has a 30% participating interest in the D35/D21/J4 PSC, located on the continental shelf in the Sarawak Basin offshore Eastern Malaysia.

Petronas Carigali is the operator and has appointed Roc Oil as the project development manager, responsible for subsurface management, well engineering, new facilities projects, and redevelopment project execution.

Back in November 2018, Roc Oil also hired an anchor handling tug and supply vessel from Perdana to support its second phase of D35 drilling campaign offshore Sarawak.

Before that, in July 2018, Velesto Drilling received a letter of award from Roc Oil for the provision of a jack-up drilling rig for the D35 Phase 2 drilling program.
