Business & Finance

Chinese shipbuilder Jiangsu New Yangzijiang has reportedly won an order for up to six Panamax bulkers from Greek shipowner Angelakos Hellas.

The order, placed on August 25, includes four firm 82,000 DWT bulk carriers and options for two additional newbuilds, data from VesselsValue indicates.

The Panamaxes, the price of which was not disclosed, are scheduled for delivery in 2019.

However, it is estimated that the price might be around USD 24 million a piece, as earlier in July Evalend Shipping paid USD 24 million per 82,000 DWT bulker at the yard.

Evalend ordered four bulkers which are to be completed by 2019 as well.

Angelakos has two more bulk carriers on order at China’s Dayang Shipbuilding Co.

The Ultramax pair, to be named Europa Graeca and Oceania Graeca, is valued at around USD 22 million a piece. The two ships are to be delivered to their owner by the end of this year, according to VesselsValue.
