Vessels

Red Rock has secured a contract to deliver the offshore crane for what will be Taiwan’s first service operation vessel (SOV).

Red Rock

The SOV will be built by Vard in Vietnam and will be chartered by Ørsted for its Greater Changhua offshore wind project in Taiwan.

Red Rock said that the contract represents a milestone as it marks the company’s 100th offshore crane delivery.

The crane is of a telescopic knuckle boom type with a safe working load of 2 tons and a maximum 12m radius providing vessel-to-vessel operations over the stern to smaller service crafts/boats.

The 84.4m vessel, a Vard 4 19 design, will have a beam of 19.5m and will be able to accommodate 87 people in single cabins. It is set to be delivered in Q1 2022.
