Edinburgh-based engineering consultancy Quoceant has boosted its mechanical engineering team with two new hires.

The consultancy welcomed Euan Reilly and George Roberts, who will be supporting Quoceant’s projects across marine energy sectors.

According to the company, they will also provide input into Quoceant-led design projects to develop innovative enabling technology.

Reilly is a chartered mechanical engineer with over eight years’ experience working in the subsea oil and gas sector.

He brings experience in the design of complex subsea hydraulic and mechanical systems and in-depth knowledge of offshore codes and standards.

Since starting at Quoceant, Reilly has been working as part of the team undertaking detailed design of the wave energy system for client Marine Power Systems.

Roberts is a recent graduate engineer with a keen interest in control and dynamics. He holds a ‘First Class Honours’ in mechanical engineering from University of Nottingham where he was awarded the vice chancellor’s award for academic excellence.

Since joining Quoceant, Roberts has been gaining experience by supporting the collaborative project with Wave Energy Scotland to develop an innovative marine quick connector system – the Q-Connect.
