PSA Carries Out Audit of Statoil’s Aasta Hansteen

In the beginning of April, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) carried out an audit of Statoil’s detailed engineering of offshore loading systems for Aasta Hansteen FPSO.

The objective of the audit was to verify that the loading system for Aasta Hansteen was adequately qualified and dimensioned pursuant to applicable regulations.

No non-conformities were identified.

Improvement points were identified in connection with:

– Handling of alternative solutions

– Verification of analyses

– Documentation

The Aasta Hansteen natural gas field, discovered in 1997, is located in 1300 metres depth of water in the Vøring area. The field has been operated by Statoil from 2006.
