Prosafe elects interim CEO after current one ‘agrees to step down’

Business & Finance

Prosafe, an owner and operator of semi-submersible accommodation vessels, has decided to appoint Stig H. Christiansen as the new interim chief executive officer (CEO) for Prosafe Management.

According to Prosafe, the company’s current CEO, Karl Ronny Klungtvedt, has agreed to step down so the company decided to name its current CFO, Stig H. Christiansen, as the new interim chief.

Christiansen has been the company’s CFO since August 2015, while Klungtvedt has been CEO of Prosafe since October 2010.

Christiansen will take up the position of interim CEO immediately and will continue to serve as the CFO of Prosafe in addition to his position as acting chief executive officer.

Prosafe said it would start a recruitment process for a new permanent CEO in due course, evaluating both internal and external candidates for the position.

The company also said on Wednesday it would scrap three of its oldest units, and cold stack other units starting with the Safe Astoria in order to reinforce its position while reducing costs.
