ProCon Wind Energy Joins Hornsea Two Roster

Project & Tenders

Offshore foundations manufacturer EEW has signed a contract with Denmark’s ProCon Wind Energy for the electrical construction of 30 transition pieces for the Hornsea Project Two offshore wind farm.

The electrical construction work will take place at EEW Offshore Structures (Britain) Ltd.’s site in the United Kingdom in the first half of 2020.

”We are extremely proud to be a part of this prestigious and well-known project as it supports the notions regarding our business growth along with our core emphasis on quality and delivery on time at competitive prices,” ProCon Wind Energy said.

Located 89 kilometres off the Yorkshire Coast, the 1.4GW Hornsea Two will comprise 165 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines installed on monopile foundations. Offshore construction is due to begin in 2020 and the wind farm is scheduled to be commissioned in 2022.

Ørsted, the developer of the project, ordered the 30 TPs from EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH in June. EEW SPC will also manufacture the 165 monopiles for the wind farm. The remaining 135 TPs will be produced by Denmark’s Bladt Industries.

This is ProCon Wind Energy’s second offshore wind contract in little over a month. In early August, Bladt Industries contracted the company for the electrical construction of the 72 TPs to be installed on the Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm.
