Prima Multi Terminal to Get Automated RTG System

PT Prima Multi Terminal, a subsidiary of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I, has ordered an Automated RTG (ARTG) system from Konecranes, a Finland-based manufacturer of cranes. 

The ordered ARTG system includes eight ARTG cranes with associated software, interfaces and services. The order also comprises three Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes.

The equipment will be delivered to the greenfield container terminal in Kuala Tanjung Port, North Sumatera, which is said to be prioritizing digitization.

“The value … (of) our automation system is delivered through the elimination of unintended crane movements, reduced energy and maintenance bills, and increased productivity,” Janne Eklund, Konecranes Sales Director, Port Cranes, Asia Pacific, commented.

The new ARTG system will be delivered at the end of 2018.

In addition, the three Konecranes STS cranes of Post-Panamax size will have an outreach of 48 meters and will be delivered two months before the ARTG system.
