Premier Oil takes Vroon’s ERRV for Catcher FPSO job

Business & Finance

Dutch provider of offshore support vessels, Vroon, has entered into a five-year charter plus options with Premier Oil for one of its emergency response and rescue vessels (ERRV).

Vroon said on Wednesday that the vessel in question was the VOS Famous.

The company added that the vessel would attend Premier’s newly arriving Catcher floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO).

To remind, the BW Offshore-owned FPSO BW Catcher left Keppel Shipyard in Singapore and is currently in transit to the Premier-operated Catcher field in the UK sector of the North Sea.

The Catcher FPSO is expected to reach UK waters early in the fourth quarter, depending on prevailing weather conditions.

The 50-meter-long VOS Famous is an F-Class vessel with a wave-piercing bow design built by Nanjing East Star, China, delivered in June 2015. The vessel arrived from China to Aberdeen in July that same year.
