Lisnave Reports Strong Ship Repair Activity in 2012

Lisnave shipyard has reported a ship repair activity in line with expectations during the first three months of 2012. An aggressive commercial policy to secure new orders, associated with an increasing number of repeat customers maintained Lisnave’s position as one of the main ship repair centers throughout the world.

Despite the ongoing global and financial situation, Lisnave repaired 27 ships, more 6 than the same period of 2011, originating from 20 clients of 11 countries.

Of the 27 ships repaired, 5 each came from Singapore, Germany and Greece and 2 each from Cyprus, Spain, Japan and U.K.

“Repeat Business” continues to illustrate the credibility and confidence in the Yard by shipowners/managers with eighteen vessels of the 27 total coming from regular clients.

This period saw such work coming from important clients as Greece’s Tsakos Columbia Ship-management and Euronave Ship-management, Cyprus Unicom Management and Cyprus’s V. Ships, Singapore AET, Demnark’s A.P. Moller and Germany’s MST-Mineralien Schiffahrt.

Having an accumulated know-how, Lisnave continues to receive all types of vessel. However, the activity of the yard continues to focus on traditional market segments, with the tankers contributing significantly to the total activity with 13 repairs performed, plus Container and General Cargo Vessels, LPG and Bulk Carriers.

The forward order book has maintained the momentum of the First Quarter with 18 Contracts already secured for the Second Quarter.
