Polskie LNG holds terminal expansion talks approach with EPC contractors

Polskie LNG, a unit of the Polish gas transmission operator, Gaz-System completed a technical dialogue on the potential of expanding the country’s first LNG import terminal in Świnoujście.

The operator of the President Lech Kaczyński LNG import facility held the discussions with representatives from contractors eyeing possible engineering, procurement, construction work, cover the solutions available on the current market, the company’s statement reads.

Polskie LNG CEO, Paweł Jakubowski said the tenders for the expansion of the terminal will be carried out during the year 2018.

When speaking of the discussion with industry representatives, he said the discussions “give the ordering party a chance to learn about the latest solutions offered within the market.”

He added the discussions enabled the establishment of relations, that might lead to future cooperation.

The company’s decision to start the discussions on the LNG terminal expansion is a response to the market cues, Jakubowski said, adding that the company is analyzing global trends and development opportunities.

The expansion program would include four projects, namely, increasing the terminal’s regasification capacity, building the second quay, constructing the third LNG storage tank and establishing the transshipment LNG installation for railroad tank cars and ISO containers.
