Polarcus scoops 4D seismic work offshore West Africa

Business & Finance

Marine seismic acquisition firm Polarcus has received a letter of award for a 4D marine seismic acquisition project offshore West Africa.

Polarcus announced the contract award on Thursday but did not disclose any financial details regarding the deal nor the client in question.

However, the marine seismic player did state that the project is scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2017 and that it would run for approximately one month. Further details regarding the survey were also left undisclosed.

This is the second project in West Africa for Polarcus since the beginning of 2017. Namely, the company received a letter of intent in early January for an offshore broadband 3D marine seismic acquisition project in the region. The first project should start in the first quarter of 2017 and would also run for one month.

Earlier on Thursday, Polarcus said it has entered into a heads of agreement with Russia’s Sovcomflot to charter a vessel on bareboat terms with delivery set for March 2017.
