Piriou Delivers Tuna Purse Seiner to Sapmer

Business & Finance

Shipbuilder Piriou handed over its 8th tuna purse seiner to seafood player Sapmer.

Built by Piriou in Vietnam, “Morn Seselwa” features a 80 m tuna deep freezer of 1 520 m3 capacity. The vessel will operate in the Indian Ocean while based in the Seychelles.

She is an evolution of the previous 90 m tuna seiner generation and benefits from the feedback of the existing fleet.

The construction of the tuna purse seiner started in December 2013 and the vessel has been displayed by SAPMER in her home port in Mahé, Seychelles, on Wednesday, December 10, 2014.

This first unit will be followed by a sistership to be delivered to Sapmer in the first quarter of 2015.
