Piriou delivers fast personnel and supply vessel to Jana Marine

French shipbuilder Piriou has delivered a fast personnel and supply vessel (FPSV) to Jana Marine, a Saudi Arabian provider of integrated marine services to the offshore o&g industry.

Piriou said on Tuesday that the FPSV named Jana 17 was built in Vietnam and would operate in the Arabian Gulf.

Vincent Faujour, CEO of Piriou, said: “We have been keen on establishing a permanent presence in the Middle East, and this contract is the beginning and the first result of our consistent search within the region for growth opportunities, in spite of a global slowdown in this sector.”

Mohammed Al-Subaie, CEO of Jana Marine, said: “Our quest for European quality vessels at a reasonable price has been realized with this deal and we hope that a long-term association with Piriou will fuel our growth as one of the leading service provider in the region and beyond.”

Jana 17, a 41P model FPSV, is a versatile vessel designed for rig crew transfer and quick transportation of supplies. The 42-meter long vessel is equipped with three engines coupled to fixed pitch propellers, 50 tonnes of deck load capacity, and can transfer up to 80 people at a speed of 25 knots.
