Norway-based Höegh LNG said on Monday that its FSRU Höegh Grace has begun commercial operations in Cartagena, Colombia.

The Höegh Grace, used as Colombia’s first LNG import terminal, started operating under the 20-year contract Höegh LNG has with Sociedad Portuaria El Cayao (SPEC).

“Höegh Grace is on hire after the regas trial is completed and following formal acceptance by SPEC,” Höegh said in a brief social media post.

The FSRU arrived in Colombia in the beginning of November and received its first cargo shortly after as part of its commissioning phase.

The vessel has the capacity to transport 170,000-cbm of LNG and is able to regasify 500 mmscf/d of the chilled fuel.
