Heerema Fabrication Group is pressing on with its operations on two jackets meant for the Culzean field development at its Vlissingen facility in the Netherlands.

The company reported through its social media channels on Tuesday, January 31 that the last row of the Culzean’s utility & living quarter (ULQ) jacket was also in upright position.

Culzean’s Central Processing Facilities (CPF) jacket was brought to upright position before ULQ, in December 2016.

This fourth roll-up of the Culzean ULQ and CPF jackets has been completed, the company added on Tuesday.

Maersk Oil-operated Culzean is an Ultra High Pressure High Temperature Development field and one of the largest gas discoveries of recent years in the UK North Sea.

In September 2015, Heerema won the contract to build jackets for both the central processing facilities platform and the utility & living quarter platform for the North Sea field. This was the second Culzean-related project for Hereema. Namely, the company already built the wellhead platform jacket, wellhead access deck, and access ways for the Culzean. The wellhead platform jacket was installed on the seabed in May 2016.

Both jackets will be approximately 115 metres tall and have a footprint of 38 x 38 metres. The jacket for the CPF has a top of 24 x 30 metres and a weight of almost 8,000 tonnes. The top of the ULQ jacket will be 24 x 24 metres and the jacket will weigh 6,800 tonnes.

According to the project schedule, the two jackets should be ready for sail away in June this year.
