Vantage Drilling has secured a contract for one of its jack-up drilling rigs, the Topaz Driller.

The Topaz Driller has been awarded a six-month contract with PETRONAS Carigali Ketapang for work in Indonesia, after completion of the current contract with Ophir Energy in Thailand.

“This continues the 100% utilization of our premium jack-up fleet into 2018. From two rigs working in mid-2016, we now have seven of our eight rigs contracted,”Vantage said in a statement.

According to a chart shared by Vantage, the rig should stay with Petronas from the second half of 3Q 2017 to the second part of 1Q 2018.

The Topaz Driller is a cantilever jack-up rig of BMC 375 design. It was built in 2009 by PPL Shipyard in Singapore.
