Pavilion Energy names new CEO

Singapore-based Pavilion Energy, a Temasek company, named Frédéric Barnaud company’s new CEO, succeeding Seah Moon Ming, who will focus on his new role as chairman of SMRT Corp.

Since Seah Moon Ming’s appointment as SMRT Corporation’s chairman in June, Pavilion Energy’s board started the search for the new CEO of the company as well as its unit Pavilion Gas, the company responsible for the marketing and distribution of natural gas in Singapore and the region, including small-scale LNG and LNG bunkering initiatives.

The company also participates in LNG trading across the globe and has been appointed as an LNG importer for Singapore by the Energy Market Authority (EMA) in 2016.

Frédéric Barnaud is currently serving as a chief commercial officer of LNG, Oil/LPG & Shipping for the Gazprom Marketing & Trading Group, based in London.

Pavilion Energy and its unit Pavilion Gas, have built up a significant presence in the global LNG value chain.

The company has acquired gas reserves in Tanzania, secured gas offtake from U.S. projects and portfolio suppliers, established joint ownership in three LNG carriers and secured the Singapore LNG importer license and also the use of the Singapore LNG Terminal’s third storage tank for trading activities.

Speaking of the new appointment, Seah Moon Ming, added that the company is already at the center of a growing LNG market, underpinned by China, India and Southeast Asia, adding that the company is entering its next phase of growth.
